Re: Email response
What other lands lie beyond the ocean in the east? Are they in contact with any of the lands in Kellen’s time, or Tiercel’s time?
In Kellen's time, of course, nobody is in contact with much of anywhere, especially the humans. In Tiercel's time, expansion is Westward, so the human realm is in contact with a number of other groups in that direction. Eastward expansion would seem to be blocked by the Elven Lands, and I imagine the Elves have their own very good reasons for doing so.
What about the Endarkened? Do the Endarkened plan to conquer those lands to the east as well, or have they done that and that’s why the Elves fled to the west?
The Endarkened don't so much "conquer" as "eradicate", and certainly they intend to eradicate all life on the entire planet (I can call it a "planet" here, out-universe as it were, but frankly, nobody has much of a grasp of astrophysics at this point in time). The Elves fled to the West a couple of thousand years before the Endarkened got into the winnowing business: why they did will be touched on in the next book.
And why is Amretheon called “Amretheon Enslaver” and “Amretheon Betrayer”?
Why indeed? Take a look at who's calling him that. (I'm hoping to go into a great deal more detail about that in the next book.)
As for Savilla and her parentage, you've already seen a bit of Endarkened child-rearing practices. What amazes me is that *any* of them know who their parents were. But again, this is something I'm hoping to touch on in the next book.
Thank you again for all the questions--my apologies for not answering more of them.
