The Writer's Life

Another two or three thousand words should get me out of this latest Endarkened section. I'd been writing one of the sub-plots without knowing where it was going, and today I found out. *Ugh* Maybe it won't have to go into this book, but I have an awful feeling it will.

And how are all of you at this end of summer? Or of winter, depending.

Busy busy here - as I am sure you are also. We've had major flooding although fortunately the worst that happened to me was some wet carpet in our basement.

I am re-reading the first trilogy, Kellen's, and I am curious about something. Vestakia says that it is common for the demon males to disguise themselves and get women pregnant. The half demon baby is usually born with a demon nature. Are these children full demons? I had assumed that this was how the demons reproduced - that they were incapable of reproducing together but I saw in Crown that that assumption was wrong. So, why do the Endarkened reproduce through human women? What do they do with the half demon children? I noticed that Vestakia doesn't have wings but all the demons seem to... do the half demon children normally have wings?

I also saw that Vestakia mentions that they have 'story songs' about this - any chance of getting to see one of those?

Just one of those things that niggles at you when you are reading something for the 10th time. Thanks!

To be honest doing so-so. I've spent the last 3 years in somewhat of a holding pattern thinking I'd go back to work (which I really enjoyed) in the next year or two. But in the last 6 months I've had the rug pulled out from under my feet. I don't think I'll be able to go back to work, at least not for a very long time, which has caused me do a lot of soul searching. I don't want to air all of my dirty laundry here, but I thought I would mention it to say thank you because I found our conversation in the earlier post an encouragement as I continue to try to work through this.

Can’t wait till your next post.

I am doing good. I will say that I hope I get a winter this years. Seem our year in my part of the country goes from summer, to hot summer, with a month or so of fall and spring. I personally hate the heat. So I need some 20 degrees to balance out the 100 degrees. My favorite gift was a window air conditioner I got for Christmas two years ago. How many people can say the get that for Christmas.
