My It's Been A Long Time

I see from my posts that it has been a shockingly long time since I did anything like keep you in the loop. I blame this on the fact that March, April, and part of May were spent going in and out of the hospital, and the rest of May and much of June was spent packing to move.

None of these activities, you will note, leaves time or energy to write.

All of which is my craven and deeply apologetic way of explaining why the book isn't done. It's extremely annoying to be 80 pages from the end in April and still there in August.

I certainly don’t like that you’re having health issues. And wish you the best with those.
Completely legitimate and hard to focus while those go on. Definitely keep us posted and heal! Big hug!

Sending good vibes

Completely understandable! My family has just moved recently and it is a headache-and-a-half. All the best with your health, sir! As one of the curious commenters you mentioned, I wish you nothing but rest for an easy and speedy recovery.

It's still great to hear from you even if no progress has been made! I actually just finished reading the Phoenix Trilogy this past month and really enjoyed it. It was very different from the other two series in this world which was very interesting for me. (It was also very funny to me to compare the very detailed and nuanced descriptions of living in the desert in your books to the desert episode of the the Witcher lol)

Congrats on finishing the book! I am very excited, the Obsidian Trilogy has been my favorite series since I read it, but I can easily foresee the Wings of Fate series bypassing it once its complete.

It's more or less the entirety of S3 Episode 7, I don't know about clips from the show but this video is decent overview of what happens: https://youtu.be/3mHmEb56n-Q?si=vlPPCTeU76vXNHcQ&t=211

The thing that stood out to me was the 2 full days in the desert with minimal to no water and basically no protection from the sun, which just seems like a death sentence to me. I guess there is magic involved so who knows but I definitely preferred the desert in your books.

I hope your health is better and am sorry to hear that. As someone who has an 'interestingly' year for a completely different reason I can understand.

Even if I am dying for the next book to come out, I don't want it to come out at the risk of your health. Hopefully everything is looking better.

Take care of you!

I hope you’re feeling better and the move went/goes smoothly. We’re here and will wait! I check every few weeks for your comments and don’t (usually) despair. Haha. I’ve been rereading the Obsidian trilogy and will move back to the Dragon Prophecy. I love this world! Take care of you. ❤️

Sorry to hear about the hospital stays. I hope you are doing better now.

But, I wouldn't call this craven at all. You have to take care of yourself. :)

I've been working on a not very epic novel since 2020 (thanks to some encouragement you gave me here I might add). However, I think I haven't worked on it for about as long as you've been away from book 3 and I can't claim I was ill.

I can, however, say that my June-July were spent moving as well, and I'm still in the process of unpacking and settling in now, lol. But when you have as many school age kids as I've got you have A LOT of stuff. Hopefully you have less stuff than I and can get back to writing more quickly.

So Much!

Oh no, that's a lot happening! Glad to hear you're out of the hospital and that things are somewhat settled down now!

best wishes and a speedy recovery!

I just stumbled upon this site in a google search for more about Macenor Telchi. What a delight!

If you're up for it, I do have a question - it was stated in the obsidian trilogy that Jermayan/Ancaladar (forgive my spelling, I read on audio!) were "dim" (or a similar word) and unable to do anymore magic. So how is it that Ancaladar was able to be transferred to Tiercel and have the full force of magic brought back? I've been wondering that for about a decade now! Excited to have found you here.

At the very end of "When Darkness Falls" there's a huge surge of wild magic when Savilla sacrifices the wrong person. During that surge Ancaladar is recharged with magic. In other words, Ancaladar had already regained his magic 1000 years before his bond was transferred to Tiercel.
