Re: Book 3 of Dragon Prophecy

I am pleased to announce that Book Three now has a title and a publication date.

Dragon Prophecy #3: Deliverance of Dragons: The Art of War will be published by Tor Books on May 27, 2025.

I know it's fifteen months from now, but a regular revision-and-production cycle is about 12 months, so we're pretty much in the groove. I haven't seen any revision requests yet, and much as I hope they will bow to my greatness and publish it as it stands, I'm not holding my breath on that. And the longer they delay in asking for revisions, the more I'll have to scramble. We'll see.

Goodness, 13 years from the start of the trilogy to the finish! So this is how the Game of Thrones fans feel. Luckily for us, it's a prequel, so we have a general idea of the outcome, but I can't wait to finally read all of the story at once! I'm going to go put notes on the other two books right now, and set a calendar reminder for May 26, 2025!

I am both excited and apprehensive about how this process will go. For example, I have just finished the latest Ann Leckie, where she spends four pages thanking editorial staff who helped her bring her book to fruition. At which I stare in bafflement...

I'm sure they're going to make a big push with it. And a pre-order is the only way to get a copy of the hardcover edition, if that matters.

Heck yes!!! Fifteen months will be plenty of time for me to go reread the previous books, and I for one love this release date because May 2025 I will be graduating with my Masters and will be able to enjoy this book without the distraction of academic deadlines. Huzzah!

It has, hasn't it? I thought the first two titles built on each other but the third fell flat. Not sure what I think of the new one but at least it will get peoples' attention.

YAY! Also I noticed that the first two books of the Obsidian Trilogy are offered on Kindle but the last isn't nor are any of the Dragon prohpecy series. Are there any plans to include them some day? I like to have travel and at home copies :)

The complete trilogies are available on Kindle in the omnibus versions. OBSIDIAN is available in all three volumes according to Amazon; also the first two books of DRAGON are showing as available on Kindle.

I'd love to, but that isn't up to me, alas. It's Tor's decision to commission more books--or not. You can always drop them a letter saying you would like more books set in this world. It could help.
