I heard from Tor this week and they told me that Deliverance of Dragons will be coming out in a simultaneous hardcover and trade paperback edition. Don't know their respective prices, but I will try to find out closer to the release date.

If you want the hardcover, you should order it *specifically* through a bookstore/outlet/mailorder. If it's bricks and mortar, even better, since I don't know if Amazon will be getting the hardcovers at all.

The MM paperback should come out on its usual schedule, about a year after the TPB.

The cover reveal should be pretty soon. I'll let you know.

Thanks for the heads up. I definitely want the hardcover to match Crown and Blade, so I'll have to look into ordering it once they're taking orders. :)

If memory serves, the gods of bookselling should take orders about six weeks out from the publication date. (Also called the "laydown" date, for reasons lost in the mists of time.)

Obsidian Wiki Back in Business!

Just in time to (try) and catch up with the content before Deliverance of Dragon comes out, I petitioned for Admin and have been filling in the Obsidian Mountain Wiki (https://obsidian-mountain.fandom.com)

I can't wait to see what they do with the cover!

Savilla's Parentage?

While awaiting the new books, I've reread all of the old. One thing I noticed is that in Blade of Empire we see one of the original 13 Endarkened, Xenarra leave the killing field to give birth to a child she names Savilla. The passage comes directly after saying when fear/pain was high the gestational period was very short and Xenarra had only recently lain with Virulan. Impying Virulan, first among the 13 was the father.

However, in When Darkness Falls Savilla states that Uralesse was her father.

Is Savilla wrong? Am I interpreting the passage in Blade incorrectly? Is there another Savilla!?

So many questions!

I think there is some kind of search by keyword within journal arrangement on DW. It ought to be a topic in the Help Section

Let me see... (1) There is only one Savilla. (2) Xennara has recently lain with Virulan. (3) Once she is an adult, Savilla claims Uralesse, not Virulan, as her father.

These three things are true. Now how do we explain them? The author did not go back and consult their reference material as the books are very heavy and also packed? Or Savilla claimed a parentage that would give her a higher status since the Endarkened don't keep a huge amount of track of things like this except where it will start/avert a blood feud? It's a pity its too late to go back and correct Blade of Empire...

I'll blame Savilla and the Endarkened's woefully non-existent parenting skills. (Insert conspiratory wink where appropriate.)
