First of all, a happy 2025 to everyone.

Deliverance of Dragons is wending its way through the proofing process, wherein the author(s) discover they gave multiple chapters the same title, the same moonturn, and often forgot their calendars completely. Fortunately our copyeditor is a very patient man, and has uncomplainingly caught all our mistakes. Any mistakes remaining are entirely mine: feel free to point them out since we might be able to fix them in the mm paperback.

Once we're past this, copyediting and proofing are done. I'm very excited about getting the book on-press. And then it will be May, and we will all have copies in our hands.

May will be here before we know it! I've started rereading the Obsidian Mountain books. Not sure if I'll reread the Phoenix books or just do Crown and Blade after.

Happy new year!

I loved it, I keep wondering what ending was rejected though. I also missed the explanation of the loss of their major powers that is mentioned in the harvest feast.

Just checked in to see where the process is at for this book, and. . . . WHOOOOOHOOOO!!!!
I've pre-ordered it from my local bookstore. Thank you for your effort and patience in finishing this series and not giving up (like a certain GRRM). The Dragon Prophesy is my favorite of the 3 trilogies!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Completely disappointed

I’ve read this book twice thinking that I missed something huge. I didn’t. What happens with the dragons and the riddles? The war? He who is and the Demons not actually being destroyed forever? What ends up happening with Valissiar and Runicar? There is no explanation about the other races that no longer exist. So many things that have absolutely nothing to do with the previous two books. We waited for years for this final book thinking it was just going to blow our minds and I’m not sure what went wrong but it was a complete letdown. Honestly, I think you should write a part two.
The Obsidian Trilogy was the best Trilogy you have ever written. It is always my go to books, which is often.
Please rewrite or write write a part two to Deliverance of Dragons I beg you. Lastly it wouldn’t hurt to take some notes from Obsidian with personalities and examples of exactly what happens and why. Thank you.

I completely agree with you. The first two books in the trilogy were full of incredible world building and masterful storytelling. This last one felt disjointed and uninspired. Started off well and then its like the light bulbs went out.

YAY!

Audible sounds different

First, absolutely hyped for the release, pre-ordered the ebook and audiobook. But the audiobook sounds different; I was confused, but it's listed as the same voice actors as the previous two books, but even just the prologue is a lot flatter and more stilted than the previous books for the He Who Is portion. Which is a shame, because the interludes/Endarkened portions are some of my favorite parts (in terms of voice acting/sound). Did something change that's not noted?

I have just finished Deliverance, and I enjoyed it thoroughly! It has been so good to finally have come to a conclusion on this trilogy after so long.
I am curious, how long was the original manuscript you handed over vs. the final cut? I ask because I felt like I could almost physically see where portions of the story had been removed for brevity, presumably by or at the behest of Tor/editorial staff. Will those deleted scenes ever see the light of day? I relished all of the Rune/Vie interactions and have been left craving more!
Thank you sincerely for all of the interactions here and the transparency you’ve demonstrated! And thank you for writing my favorite books (my son Kellen may want to have a word one day though).

Whooo!

These books are melded into my psyche, and I'm glad. I always start at the beginning of the series when a new book is on its way, and life kept me from finishing each book in a day this time around. I'm grateful for your perseverence, thoughtfulness, and passion.

Like others, I can see how painful the editing process must have been. I would have loved to read the story whole. I also know just how short the attention span of a person can get, and I understand why the cuts were made. I can read between the lines, but I would love to read YET MORE BOOKS if you and the team have it in you.

If you need a letter-writing campaign to make it happen, let us know where to aim and the tone you think will work best.

Thanks again!

More?

Ok! Now I need the story of what happened when they fought the Endarkened before Vielle. And between Vielle and the Obsidian triloly. Vielle sees when the elves will stop having magic, but how does it really happens? They just stop to genetically produce mages down the generations or or something like a big spell takes the magic away as a payment? Do you plan another book (or even better: books) ? Thank you so much for this world you have given us <3 Jane008

Forthcoming:
